What is TTFB?
Time To First Byte (TTFB) measures how long it takes for your browser to receive the first byte of data from a web server after making a request. It's a critical metric for website performance and includes:
- DNS lookup time - Finding the server's IP address
- Connection time - Establishing the TCP connection
- SSL/TLS negotiation - Setting up secure connections
- Server processing time - Generating the response
